Because the stories that are written are things that happened in the past, the tenses we use are Simple Past Tense. In addition, there is also the use of adverbial phrases or what we can call an 'adverb of place and time.' Yes, yes, we definitely need to explain where and when the experience took place.
For some cases, when writing a recount text, we sometimes need to use connective adverbs, such as first, next, then, last, finally, and so on, to show the sequence of events that we are telling.

RECOUNT TEXT STRUCTURE
Orientation
At the beginning, we need to write down the character or characters, the location, and also the time it occurs. In this section, we introduce and provide information to the reader in order to understand the whole story that we write.
For example: Roy Trenton used to drive a taxi. A short while ago, however, he became a bus driver.
From this example we can know, "Oh, what we are talking about is the story of Roy Trenton as a bus driver." Then the question arises, what happened?
Events
To answer questions related to what events will be told, we begin to enter the second part, namely events. In this section, we tell something that happened in the past according to a series of events. To indicate a series of events, we can use on the first day, when, on the next day, on our last day, in Sunday morning, and so on.
Re-orientation
Well buddy, this part can be said as the conclusion or ending from the experience told. We can also add an impression of the story being written, for example, whether it was a pleasant experience or not.
For example: Shortly afterwards, the police stopped the car and both men were arrested.
