Today I will explain about descriptive text

what is meant by descriptive text?

Descriptive text is a text that usually focuses on describing a location, object, event, person or place. It also engages the reader's five senses to evoke sights, sounds, smells, tastes etc.

So, do you know the characteristics of descriptive text? there are several characteristics of descriptive text, namely:

1. Using the simple present tense.

why this text uses the simple present, because we will describe the facts attached to an object and the function of the simple present tense itself.

2. Using many adjectives (adjectives).

okay because the function of this text is to provide information by describing an object that is being described, so in the descriptive text there will be many adjectives.

For example Big, Small, fragrant, smelly and so on.

3. Use connecting verbs.

Relative verbs are verbs that explain the noun that is the subject of the sentence. For example is, have, see and other verbs.

• Examples of Deskriptive Text : 

My room is in second floor, next to my big sister’s room. My room is painted light grey. There is big bed inside my room where I sleep every day.
